Late, Overwhelmed, Exhausted & I Haven't Even Left Yet!

I'm leaving for Calgary in a few minutes & will be gone for 5 or 6 days to attend a wedding & then meet up with my parents, sisters, nephews...the whole family! As much as I would love to see everyone, this is the absolute worst time for me to be leaving for holiday. I collapsed in a pile of tears late last night feeling totally overwhelmed with all of the things I need to do & WANT to be doing right now instead of getting my car fixed & packing & taking the dogs to the vet. I have so many updates for the site & just want to work on my site stuff - respond to my email, hang out in chat & just generally get caught up.

Thank you for being patient with me & please know there are a bunch of comments & emails I really want to reply to, but just haven't had the time yet. Once I get back, things will calm down & I get back to focusing on what *I* want to be doing. Anybody got a valium? I haven't even had time to stress about the family arguments that are sure to ensue! Though maybe that's a good thing...

I'll try to update from Calgary. I think my hotel has internet so I'm going to bring my laptop & webcam, just in case I can sneak away & chat while I'm gone. Wish me luck!

Super Feet!

I went to see Superman at the midnight showing last night & it was awesome! Perfect in every way with a wonderful blend of homage to the original & lots of whiz bang fun stuff to appeal to the new fans.

Is it any wonder that fetishes for things like bare feet or latex develop? There was a delicious scene where Lois Lane slips off her high heels & steps gingerly on Superman's feet so that they can fly together. The close up shot of her yummy bare toes stepping softly on his big boots (the way little girls dance with their fathers) was so romantic & sexy & just the thing that fantasies are made of. I couldn't see clearly what shade Kate Bosworth's toes were painted, but it was a very dark color - purple or black or very deep red. When they're coming back down, Kate has her feet pointed & the arches are to die for. Gorgeous!

Hugs All Around

After last night I feel like such a fool for complaining about my stressful week of home renos, lawyers & moving stuff. My best friend's mom passed away.

The Big V is one of those guys who is always there to talk or to help a friend out, but rarely talks about his own problems. He's the guy that my friends & I think of as a big brother - the guy you go to if you need a 5:00 a.m. ride to the airport & could trust with your bank stuff while you're away. Because he's the guy who takes care of everybody else & never asks for help, I had no idea his mom was so sick.

She was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago & he decided last week that he would move back home to help out his dad & just be around more. His parents are awesome - the type of family that welcomes everyone & makes you feel right at home. They were high school sweethearts & unlike a lot of older couples I know, really good friends too. The hardest part of all of this is that a few months ago the Big V wrote his mom a letter telling her how proud he was of her fight with cancer & thanking her for all the little (& big) ways she's been an awesome mom & helped shape his life. He kept waiting for the perfect time to give it to her, but her mental capacity declined so rapidly that he never got the chance.

I phoned my mom this morning (which scared the shit out of her since I *never* call this early) to tell her how much I love her & appreciate everything she did for me as a kid & still does today. We were both crying by the end of it, but in a good way. She was feeling sort of down this morning, still laying in bed & reading her bible before I phoned. A phone call from her daughter just to say "I love you" was just the thing she needed.

I have a wedding to attend in Calgary on July 1st & my entire family is coming up for it - both sisters, my nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, everybody! It's the kind of thing I would've been dreading as a teenager since none of my friends would be there, but now I'm really looking forward to it. I'm so bad for picking up the phone & making an effort to keep in touch with family, especially my sisters. I do talk to my parents a lot, but even that is sort of selfish. They love me unconditionally & are always on my side, so even if I have to roll my eyes through a bit of church talk, it's still like phoning my own personal cheering section.

I'm rambling now & haven't had my coffee yet, but just wanted to let you know what happened to me last night. And remind you to give someone you love a squeeze today. *hug*

The Other (almost) Shoot!

I've been meaning to update ya'll on my crazy gun story, but this week has just been nuts with no end in sight. I'm getting ready to move so that means digging through all of my stuff to figure out what would come with me, what needs to go into storage, what I can sell (& where to sell it) & what needs to be donated (& where to donate). Did you know those storage places are booked solid? I need a heated unit for the antique piano that I've had in my family for generations & have called just about everywhere in the city with nothing available. I'm on a bunch of waiting lists though so hopefully one will open up soon. The piano isn't worth anything moneywise, but since my parents paid to have it shipped out here, I can't just sell it. I grew up playing it & so did my grandmother. Old, clunky, impossible to tune & with chipped keys, I still want to hang onto it. Storage it goes!

I have a weird hang up when it comes to donating my stuff too. I'm a bit of a packrat, especially when it comes to books & anything I could ever possibly use to shoot with. Shoes, dresses, lingerie, blankets, funky background material...if it could somehow at some point be used in a photo shoot, I can't get rid of it. This means I have a lot of stuff that I *have* to get over & get rid of. But where to donate? I don't want to dump it all at Goodwill, so I'm making this process even more complicated by making separate piles of:

  • "good" stuff (clothes that are still cool enough to be fashionable etc.) that will go to the youth emergency shelter

  • "bad" stuff that goes to Goodwill

  • newer stuff that I could possibly sell if I had a big moving/garage sale

  • light + valuable stuff that I could sell on eBay without insane shipping prices

On top of this, I'm painting, cleaning, re-grouting my bathtub, trying to find someone to install baseboards AND doing my tax stuff which has been piled into the oh so helpful categories of "2005" or "2006", with a bit of crossover to boot. Have I mentioned how much I would love to hire a bookkeeper? Maybe a cute blonde with a pencil skirt & tight sweater who would let her glasses slide down her nose as she added everything up & organized my life for me...mmmmmm.

Anyways, on to the story! The night of the Stanley Cup finals I had a date to drown my sorrows in some late night drive-thru grub. We hit McDonalds & parked at a school so my dogs could run around. It was a really nice night despite losing the Cup & we walked over to the school bleachers to snack on fries & enjoy the cool breeze. Just as it started feeling a little too cold, I noticed a cop car with lights blazing across the field. Since there were bound to be tons of drunken hockey fans out & about, I knew cops would be in full force & figured we'd better head back to the car just in case the cops did see us & ended up giving me a ticket for having the dogs running around without their leashes or something stupid. Back to the car!

I was just getting my seatbelt on when the cop car drove slowly past the entrance to the parking lot. I started the engine & was starting to drive out when the cop switched on his lights & reversed hard, pulling into the parking lot at full speed. I stopped & put the car in park just as two cops jumped out of their car & started screaming at us to, "Put your hands up! Put your fucking hands up!!!"

I was startled, but laughing because it was so obvious that we were not the people they were looking for. The cops started doing that slow crouching walk thing towards my car with these huge rifles pointed at us. That made me stop laughing, but having never ever been even pulled over for a speeding ticket, I'm new to dealing with cops. I took my hands down for a second just to turn off the engine (which apparently was not smart). My date had his hands out the window & was speaking loudly to the cops, letting them know that we had two small dogs in the backseat. He was worried the dogs would jump up or bark or something - enough for a trigger happy cop with a rifle pointed at our heads to see a perceived threat & shoot. Kiero jumped into my lap & the cop got close enough to see that we didn't have anyone but a pug hiding in the back & they took off, after apologizing for scaring the shit out of us, of course.

Apparently there had been shots fired in the area & the vehicle make was very similar to mine. I haven't seen anything in the paper about it, so I'm still not sure what happened, but it was very bizarre considering this is a quiet residential neighborhood. And pretty exciting for my first police experience!

I feel so suburban whitebred even relaying this story as the only interaction I've ever had with a police officer. Even worse, I was totally thinking about blogging about it on the drive home. Yes, I am that lame. Feel free to rofl, lol or lmao at my expense. *grin*

Happy Father's Day!

Hope all the dads out there are having a wonderful day. I always think of the Chris Rock bit when Father's Day rolls around - "What does Daddy get? The big piece of chicken." lol

I think we take dads for granted. They get a new tie, maybe some golfballs...rarely anything particularly thoughtful when compared to the haul that moms get on Mother's Day. For most of us, the reason mom was able to be there to kiss our booboos & sew our school play costumes was because dad was out working long hours, making sure he could provide a good life for us. Now it seems like that's the bare minimum. Dads are expected to pay bills (which are grossly inflated) while working less hours so that they never *ever* miss a soccer game or family dinner. What happened to kids being excited about getting a new bike for Christmas? Can you imagine a 12 year old today opening the usual socks, pajamas & then the one big gift & revealing a bicycle? He expects a brand new bike every summer for no reason at all! Christmas is for Xbox 360s, digital cameras, TVs & DVD players for the kid's room. Notice I said AND not OR.

Despite the fact that most childless couples need two incomes to sustain a middle class lifestyle, more & more women want to stay home with their children & the father is expected to be able to provide for the same lifestyle plus a baby on an income that has just been sliced in half. He should also be doing his share of midnight feedings, diaper changes & household chores if he's a "good" father. He shouldn't dare ask for sex until at least 6 months after the baby is born. When he comes home from work, he should take over the childcare to give mom a break. And what does dad get as a thank you? A mug with a fish on it.

Before I get a slew of "well my dad was an asshole & my mom was a saint" comments, let me say I know. I know moms work hard & deserve to be appreciated. They *are*. According to the National Retail Federation, the average person plans to spend $88.80 on dads, compared with $122.16 for moms. Some retailers, however, see this as a great opportunity to make more money & launched the biggest Father's Day advertising campaigns to date starting three weeks earlier than last year hoping to drive more sales. Do we really need a shove from capitalism to get us to say thanks to our dads?

If you dropped the ball this Father's Day or recoil at the idea of commemorating a Hallmark holiday, you can still put in a little honest effort without feeling cheesy. See if your dad wants to go out to watch Game 7 (woooohooooo!) or whatever sport he likes to watch. My dad is not a sports bar kind of guy & would never meet up with buddies to watch a game, but he'll go if I invite him & he ends up having a great time. When's the last time your dad went to see a movie? They just don't do this stuff if you don't make 'em!

So if you haven't already, get off your butt & give your dad a call.

And then come watch my camshow at 11:00 PM EST. =)

Sexy Movies in the Can (no, not that can!)

Members Update: I've shot a bunch of very sexy new movies over the last few weeks, but they are *still* not ready to be downloaded. I'm so sorry this has been taking so long. I think you are going to love these movies & I can't wait to share them with you! The problem is I think I've been scammed.

Isn't it 2006? How is it possible that someone who makes her living doing internet work can get scammed like an eBay n00b? After the firewire port on my videocamera died I've been looking for a cheap replacement camera. I don't need to use it to shoot videos with - just to transfer the video from the tape to my computer. I bought one off of eBay over a month ago & it still hasn't arrived. The seller isn't answering my emails & though I did manage to get him on the phone, I'm starting to think he was just being polite & helpful so that I wouldn't file a report right away. You have 45 days to file a claim & after that, you're pretty much screwed.

I made the mistake of looking at a convincing auction page & 3 other similar videocameras the seller had listed & believing that he ran a brick & mortar store that was legitimately "overstocked". He'd only been registered for a couple of months & had 5 positive feedbacks. I figured he was a legit seller, just new to eBay. My dumb mistake was not checking to see what the feedback was FOR before bidding. Since he had 4 cameras listed at the time, I assumed the feedback was for other cameras he'd sold. Nope! All 5 were for things he'd bought, not sold. And 4 out 5 were for items that cost less than $1.00. Did you know people sell Gmail invites on eBay???

I'm not holding my breath that this camera will show up, but wanted to get you up to speed in case you'd been wondering why I hadn't added any new movies lately. Looks like it'll be back to my crappy camera & editing out the artifacts (big blue & green pixel-y splotches) frame by frame by frame until I'm ready to roll the auction dice again. Should you feel lucky, remember the cardinal rules of on-line auction buying:

1. Check the seller's reputation in detail

2. Confirm the shipping rate before bidding (especially if they just say "will ship to Canada" but don't specify an amount)

3. Pay using pay pal funded by a credit card (this is crucial - if you just transfer money from your bank account or pay pal account balance & need to file a dispute, you will only get your money back IF the scammer's account has money in it. When you use a credit card, you can go to pay pal first & if they can't get your money, talk to your credit card company.)

Server is Fixed!

If you tried to access my site last night, you probably noticed it was either totally missing or loading very slowly. That would be courtesy of some lovely hacker (cracker) that was hammering my server. I couldn't get in to the admin to see if it was a specific username or IP & the tech guy (thanks Matt!) at my host couldn't get in either because as soon as they would reboot the server, the whole thing would lock up again. Very frustrating. The feeling of being totally useless, just waiting to hear back from the tech guy & madly refreshing my support ticket hoping for an update was not how I had hoped to spend my Friday night/Saturday morning. I finally fell asleep at my desk around 5:00 a.m. When I woke up (so rested!), my tech guy had been able to get the server stable enough to see which account was causing all the trouble & it has now been turfed, so things look back to normal now. At $150 per hour for futher support, I hope things are back to normal!

Driving Barefoot Video

I just uploaded a new video of me driving barefoot. When it gets really hot outside, sometimes I like to kick off my shoes, even my comfy flip flops & go totally bare. This video starts with a candid shot of me hopping out of my car to return some library books (bare feet, of course) & then driving home with a bit of pedal pumping too. My feet do end up getting quite dirty when I run around all day like this, but that just gives me an excuse to pamper my peds, give 'em a good scrub when I get home & then slather them with lotion to get them nice & soft again.

Sign up for Barefoot Kristy - my personal foot fetish site to download my new video!

Bare Feet Pictures

I will have new pictures up for my bare feet fans tonight, but wanted to share this one first. There aren't really enough foot fetish ones to make an entire set, but I just love the way my little toes are peeking out & I think my wrinkly soles look incredibly sexy. Hmmmm...maybe I'll put up the full size ones anyways...

Live Webcam Chat Sunday Night

Update for members of Barefoot Kristy: live webcam chats are now scheduled for Sunday nights at 11:00 PM EST. Hope to see you there!
